Parent Consent Letter for Blog

Page history last edited by VRBurton 12 years, 10 months ago

Dear Parent:

In my English I class, we will be using blogs, wikis and related technologies to create a body of student work available via the Internet. In our class, I’ll be asking students to create their own blogs, wikis, videos, podcasts, and digital stories. Due to the nature of this technology, your students’ work, with your permission, will be available online and accessible via our class websites and their personal blogs/wikis/presentations.

We will first learn about what is appropriate and what is not appropriate for online communication, and your students’ work will be monitored closely by me to ensure his/her safety and privacy. I hope that you, too, will monitor your student’s progress.

My goal is to create an online portfolio of your student’s best work that can be viewed by anyone who wishes to see it. I am interested in any feedback or suggestions that you have as we begin this work. Please give me a call at (504) 298-9764 or email me at Valerie.Burton@jppss.k12.la.us.
