Warning Shots p. 6

The attempted assassination of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has reignited the long debate over guns in America.

Why is such an amendment important in the nation's earliest years? it was important because the new us had to defend itself aganist the british

Who made up the 'militia' then?us citizens.

How has the Supreme Court interpreted that language in recent decisions?

Do you think there should be any restrictions on an individual's right to own and carry guns today? If so, what kind?no because we as americans should be able protect ourself.

Gun-control advocates say that Arizona's gun laws are too permissive.

What do you think?i think it may be a bit easy to get guns but  they sould not restrict us of owning guns.

Should people be able to carry concealed weapons into restaurants and bars?people should be able  to birng concealed weapons to any place that sell Alcohol.

On college campuses? Why or why not?No people should not be anywhere near any school type facility with a weapon.

Why do you think more teens than adults support gun-control laws?beacause adults have more uses for guns than teens.

What, if anything, do you think could have prevented the Tucson shootings?Nobody could have predicted or prevented that Jared Loughner would have gone crazy and unleashed all that ammo.

How do you think gun-control supporters and opponents would answer this questions?they would answer the questions based on there own selfish reasons.

When describing her bill to ban large-volume gun magazines, Congresswomen Carolyn McCarthy, Democrat of New York, said, "This is not a gun-control bill. I like to use the word 'gun-safety bills.'"  What point do you think she was trying to make? Do you agree? The point that  she is trying to make is that it is unnecessary  to carry a gun that has a 30-round clip.Yes i do agree.

Take a stand: Should the U.S. ban the sale of gun magazines that contain more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

yes because it does not  take alot of ammo to protect yourself.A 10 round clip is more than enough ammo to protect yourself and your family.

I think feel that people should be able to buy guns to protect his/her family because there are people in the world would act stupid and just go killing people.

At first, I thought it was okay for a random person to carry a firearm .When I read "Warning Shots"  I started to think that america has to take extra procaution  to who we sell guns too.I know that many people feel that we should have stricter laws. After reading this article i agree. This article provided a lot of information and opinions on gun laws. Some people felt that gun laws were not strist enough, "31,224 people in the united states die from gun violence in 2007."This statistic didn’t really surprise me all that much, but it did make me feel worried. If the US doesn't make these laws different so that criminals cant get there hands on guns to do harm, that statistic is surely going to increase.
